Sips 'n' Strokes

There is an awesome place in Atlanta called Sips 'n' Strokes. It's basically a painting class where an instructor walks you through step-by-step to paint a canvas. You leave the class feeling accomplished and you take home a masterpiece that you painted yourself! I love the feeling that I have after I paint something. I wish I took the time to paint more often. I did get some good inspiration from this class, though!

My friend Jennie and I decided to sign up for a painting called "Retro Paisley". We had so much fun pretending to be serious artists! We plan on doing this often! We just don't know where we're going to hang all of our paintings. One of these days, there might be an art gallery in my house...

This is what the class looked like...You can bring your own beverages and snacks. There were a couple of large groups of girls there that looked like they were having a great time!

Our finished canvases!! We had so much fun! I can't wait to do it again!

Changes...Changes...Changes

I have been thinking about and praying about a new name for the blog! I really wanted to take our name off of it, but couldn't think of anything that suited us and wasn't cheesy!

I wanted to let all our readers know (all 27 of you) that I changed our blog name and web address. The new address will be http://filledwithjoy2.blogspot.com - I had to add the "2" because filledwithjoy was taken... aw, man!

We have adopted Psalm 126:3 as our life verse. It says "The LORD has done great things for us and we are filled with joy." I absolutely love the message of this verse! God has done so many great things for us and we are so blessed and have so much to be thankful for! We are joyful in HIM!

March Madness!

Last Sunday morning, Sam woke up singing "It's the most wonderful time of the year...", you know, the Christmas song! He thinks that March Madness, the NCAA tournament, is better than Christmas!

We have started an annual tradition of hosting a Selection Sunday party and filling out our brackets as they are announced. Sam draws the bracket on our kitchen wall with crayons and I make team cupcakes. Everyone that comes has their favorite team on a cupcake! So fun!

There has already been some CRAZY upsets this year. Although I have Kentucky winning it all, my bracket has a lot of red on it!

And I know you have the Christmas song in your head now...sorry about that! Just think of Sam as you sing!

Snow Day #2

It's been a while since I've posted an update! Sam and I have both had a crazy couple of weeks. I finally feel like I can breathe and sit down to relax for a while!

The weather right now is sooo nice! It's beginning to feel a little warmer! Good thing because TODAY is the first day of spring!

However, just a couple of weeks ago, we got dumped on with SNOW! It was probably the most snow that we've seen in quite a while in Georgia. We bundled Michael up in his snowsuit once again and went to play in the snow. This time, the snow was perfect for snowball and snowman making. Sam even came out and played with us! We made our first family snowman. It's the first snowman that I have made in YEARS! So much fun!
