More Park Fun

While Sam is away, Michael, Sugar, and I are spending time with my parents. My mom has this really great park near her house! It's a kid's paradise!! There are so many fun things to climb on and swing on and explore! Michael is really going to love this place when he can run around! I have a feeling we'll be spending lots of days at this park!

Michael's grandparents, Sam's parents, left today for Swaziland, Africa! I know they'll be checking in for updates, so I'm going to be more faithful with my blogging. We are all going to miss them while they are gone for this month, but we know God has great plans for them there! We are praying for you and that God will use you and bring HIS glory to the Swazi people!!  We love you!

Madness!!

It's that time of year again...the time where Sam gets to write on our kitchen wall with crayons...the time that he thinks is better than Christmas...the time where Sam wears a different college jersey or shirt everyday! It's March Madness!!
This is Sam's favorite time of year! He goes absolutely crazy analyzing teams and brackets for the NCAA tournament! He even uses our WHOLE kitchen wall as a huge bracket! (We use washable crayon so it just comes off with water...genius!) He's even headed to Vegas for the rest of the week so that he can watch all of the games at once in the Bellagio's Sports Book.

We had a Selection Sunday party at our house this past weekend! It was packed full of friends and family all waiting to see what seed their favorite team received. It was so much fun! We asked people to RSVP with their favorite team so I could make them a cupcake! Here's what all the cupcakes looked like during the party! I thought they turned out so cute! We might have to make that a tradition! My favorite one is that Texas Longhorn one...hook 'em horns!

Have you made your picks yet? I'm working on my bracket as we speak...You'll see who I picked tomorrow once the games start! And, it's not a number 1 seed...hmm....

He's a crawler!!

Michael is officially crawling! Look out world!!

He's been "scooting" for a few weeks now and could pretty much get anywhere he wanted to, but he mainly used his belly to move. Sam called it crawling, but I refused until he used his hands and knees the whole time!
We were beginning to think he might just skip the crawling stage and go straight to walking, but nope! He took a few steps at a time this past weekend, but just today he started going across the room!! Looks like it's time to childproof the house and get a baby gate or two!
I know that Michael is just going to be a travelin' man! He is so curious and wants to get into everything! I'm so excited, but I already miss those days where I could lay him on the couch and be confident that he would stay in the same spot all swaddled up!

My little man is getting so big!! :)

A Day at the Park

A couple of weeks ago, my friend Robin and I took her daughter, Kaylin, and Michael to the park! Kaylin was quite familiar with the park and enjoyed running around and going down the slide! However, it was Michael's first trip to the park!

He slept for the first half of the park trip, but then he got to go in the swings! He liked it!! I think he likes the feel of dangling feet!

Then, Kaylin wanted to teach him how to go down the slide like a big kid! He got to take a trip down the slide with mommy!! :)

The little park trip made me so excited for spring to get here so we can go more often! It's been a little chilly and rainy the past couple of days which makes it hard to go outside!! But chilly rainy days are perfect for shopping, right!?!

Niagara Falls

Sam and I went to Niagara Falls, Canada, for our 6 year anniversary trip! Although it was tough being away from Michael for 2 nights - it was the first time we've left him overnight - it was so nice to be with each other.

We flew into Buffalo, NY, and rented a car. We drove to the New York side of the Falls first. It was amazing to walk beside the river and watch it turn from peaceful river to rapids and then to drop off a HUGE cliff!!

Did you know that "Niagara Falls" is actually 3 different waterfalls? I learned all of this while we were up there. There is the American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Horseshoe Falls, which is the one most people think is "Niagara Falls".

On the American side, you couldn't really get a good look at either waterfall, but you could get really close to the American Falls and also walk out on an overlook. It was incredibly windy up there....

Once we crossed over into Canada, it was an amazing view! Our hotel was right in front of the Horseshoe Falls and being up high gave you an amazing look at the whole river!

We had such a great time!! Happy Anniversary to us!! <3

My family

The computer is still on the mend, but my mom is letting me use her laptop until we get it fixed...hallelujah! I think we're going to have to go see the Geek Squad this weekend because I still can't find the re-installation CD that we need...

Anyway...I realized I never shared our Christmas card picture from this year. This is my family - Sugar, Sam, Me, and Michael. This picture was taken by my friend, Robin, in her backyard. We had to take about 50 pictures just to get this one good picture. There are some great ones of just Sam, Me, and Michael, but Sugar doesn't like to cooperate for pictures.

Sam and I will have been married for 6 years on February 8th!! I cannot believe it's been that long already...we're like an old married couple now...ha! He's taking me on a trip to see Niagara Falls and we're staying in Canada next weekend! I'm really excited!! I know that the Falls are going to be such a gorgeous sight to see! Sam also made surprise reservations at a restaurant on Saturday night...it's supposed to be amazing!! We're also going to freeze our tails off! I will make sure to post pictures!

Another bit of news...Michael has 2 teeth!! They're not all the way in, but you can definitely see two white teeth poking through! He's been a little fussy at night time, but nothing a little Tylenol and Orajel can't fix!! His sleep is not disturbed, however, because he's still getting the 10-12 hours a night! WOOHOO!! I can't get a good picture of his teeth because he won't keep his mouth open long enough! But, one of these days, you'll be able to see them good while he's smiling!!!

sad day...

Our computer is very sick. I am sick about thinking about it. It just shut down all of a sudden and it won't start back up. I've called technical support and they can't do anything about it unless I have the re-installation CD. Surprise!! I can't find the CD. So, technical support is waiting on me to find that darn CD. On a positive note, our basement is getting organized while I look for it!

I really hope that it can be fixed because ALL of my pictures are on there. The ironic thing is that I've been talking about backing up our pictures for a while now, but have yet to do it. AND, I just checked it for viruses on Monday.

SO....remember to back up your pictures TODAY!!!! I have learned a lesson.

It'll probably be a while before another blog, but I'll keep you posted! I'm using the in-laws' computer right now.
